Júlia Berkowitz is the star director of the Public Theatre. Young, brilliant and very attractive, this former actress decides to direct a play about Madame de Sévigné, the Parisian Marchioness famous for her «Letters to her Daughter».

As soon as Júlia starts working on the play a respectable amount of professional  and personal problems arise. «Sometimes I feel as if embarked on life without my own consent», leaves the director identifying with Mme de Sévigné’s own words. Júlia thus summons up the courage in choosing between her conventional life with her husband— the influential and intriguing theatre reviewer Gerardo R. Valcárcel and between Ignasi Basauri the attractive programmer of the Theatre with whom she is having an affair. Or, making a fresh new start with the female author of the play, the unknown and very unpredictable Marina Ferrer Amat.
